Mica Cooper Lamps & Ceiling Fixtures
Turn-of-the-Century American Lighting design and craftsmanship is available
today from Mica Lamp Co. Where the formula of the original artist is followed.
Dirk Van Erp was the master coppersmith of the American Arts and Crafts
movement. In 1910, at his San Francisco workshop, he discovered the warmth of
copper, combined with the magical translucence of crystallized mica minerals.
His original pieces are highly prized by collectors of the "Made in America"
tradition.
Please note the finishes are a natural process. Variations of texture and tone are common.
All the pieces are made of copper or heart oak finished with rich natural patinas.
The Shades are made of a copper frame containing mineral mica flakes combined
with organic shellac which makes each shade a unique natural piece with its
variations of mineral deposit patterns and color tones.
